If you look closely you might recognize the teenager standing beside my fleet-footed younger brother. Also, next to Michael is my well dressed great uncle Giuseppe set in a scene I’ve since forgotten.
What can not be forgotten however are the prominent roles my parents, sibling, and relatives have played throughout my life.
But that’s what God intended our families to do. It seems that the development of character is best served by those who know us best--even if we feel a little bit exposed on the edges! Yet our family relationships help to shape and cement values of love, loyalty and forgiveness.
With the above in mind, I encourage you to think about your formative years and then superimpose them over your present situations. Try majoring on the virtues, toss out the pits, and purpose to be all that you can be for those around you.
